What is the Bt Toxin?

Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) is a bacteria that produces proteins which are toxic to insects. Bt is the most widely used biological pesticide in the world and is either sprayed on crops, or, even worse, added genetically to GMO foods. Bt has been touted as a safe alternative to harsh chemical pesticides but many experts believe that Bt is not safe at all.
